Your insider’s guide to Hong Kong

Jessica Jung

Singer, actress and designer

I got into the music industry at a very young age. From the very early years, music has always been a big passion of mine and I’ve always loved singing and still do.

When I started out, it was nice to have the support system of being in a group. But since I am at a different stage in my life now, I enjoy the artistic freedom of being solo and making my own decisions, coming into my own personal identity and creating something that is a true reflection of myself.

I’ve always had an interest in fashion. I used to love shopping with my mom when I was a young girl. Being in the entertainment industry, I was also exposed to a lot on the fashion side. I developed my own taste and sense of style and I wanted to bring that into my own brand, which is how BLANC & ECLARE was born.

I find that experience is important for the creative process – especially travel experiences. Learning about other cultures is so motivating and important for self-awareness and discovery.

My style is very classic. My day-to-day uniform consists of skinny jeans and a tee or a simple top, which sounds basic. But even the slightest details can elevate a look, which is why I pay a lot of attention to the smallest elements.

My everyday beauty look is simple and natural, so I focus on keeping my skin and hair healthy. I make sure to keep my lips and skin nourished with lip balm and hydrating mist. A hairbrush is a must to keep long hair looking polished.

I never leave home without a pair of well-designed sunglasses – good for sun protection as well as a stylish accessory. A power bank is also an essential, because I’m always on my phone either listening to music or staying connected to my family, friends, and of course, fans.

I always make sure to stay hydrated by drinking lots of water, and making time for self-care. Sometimes when I’m travelling for work, it’s easy to get over exhausted and just fall asleep but I always make sure to stay committed to my skincare routine.

I love Hong Kong – I always feel so energised here! There is always something exciting going on. And of course, the food is amazing. There’s no place like it in the world.
